Alfa Laval returns at ASIA-TECH to empower refiner’s formula for energy efficiency

ASIA-TECH has been the go-to platform for the refining and petrochemical community for over 20 years. It continues to offer practical insights and innovative solutions to the challenges faced by the regional and global downstream industry.

The 2024 edition will expand and evolve, not only focused on addressing conventional downstream optimization but also integrating decarbonization & sustainability objectives – feedstock diversification, carbon intensity reduction, Green & Blue Hydrogen, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), implementation of Circular Economy (CE) models, renewables and other Energy Transition topics.

High efficiency, low costs and a focus on sustainability are essential factors for staying competitive in the oil refining business. Alfa Laval’s solutions for refineries offer a straightforward way to improve profitability while ensuring maximal reliability and product quality.

When partnering with Alfa Laval, you get access to a range of process optimization services, covering all stages of your project from initial idea generation, through the feasibility-and basic design study, to installation and commissioning of our equipment.

Meet the Alfa Laval experts at ASIA-TECH to discuss:

  • greater production throughput
  • energy conservation via heat recovery
  • reduced emissions
  • lower CAPEX and OPEX
  • less downtime and reduced maintenance
  • improved operating costs

Presentation: Alfa Laval Solutions for Problems in Conventional CDU OVHD Condenser

Date & Time: 1 October 2024, 2.15pm

Session 3 Part II: Technical solutions for optimizing asset operations and performance

This presentation will cover proven solutions using high efficiency heat exchangers in different process units, case studies and practical examples. The session deep dives into corrosion and increased pressure drop which are typical problems in conventional energy air cooler condensers.

The speaker, Jay Jeong is the Refinery Process Expert in Alfa Laval Technologies AB in Sweden.  He has studied mechanical engineering at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea, and has more than 30 years of industrial experience.  Jay has been working in Alfa Laval for more than 18 years mainly as the Heat Exchanger expert for various process industries including refinery, petrochemical, inorganic chemicals and steel industry.

As the Refinery Process Expert in Alfa Laval Technologies, Jay has been actively helping refinery customers in Asia and Oceania, in handling various process challenges.  Finding ways to reach energy optimization and emission reduction in process units including ADU/VDU and various catalytic processes has been the major focus areas of his work, while mitigating heavy fouling in FCC/RFCC, desalter and heavy oil processes such as visbreaker and residue hydrocracker is another area of focus.
