Topic: Alfa Laval’ Solutions in Maximizing Profitability in HVO Renewable Fuel Process

Speaker: Salwati Ahmad, Refinery Market Manager, Alfa Laval

Synopsis: In the current global energy transition, refineries are transforming their plants to operate with different renewable feedstocks such as vegetable oil, animal fat and cooking oil, to comply with local legislation, business sustainability and refinery profitability. The preferred process to produce biofuels with higher qualities than today is called hydrotreatment of vegetable oil (HVO). Alfa Laval has decades of experience in delivering pre-treatment plants for fats and oils to biodiesel and HVO producing industries using Alfa Laval’s proven proprietary process solutions. The presentation will highlight Alfa Laval’s solution in HVO and experience from actual projects that helps refineries recovering energy from their process optimization.

Salwati is the Refinery Market Manager in Alfa Laval with 10 years of global experience in various industries such as Oil and Gas, Refinery and Petrochemical; performing troubleshooting of Alfa Laval welded heat exchangers to ensure optimal performance. Currently, she is responsible for developing refinery businesses in South Asia, South East Asia, Oceania and Turkey; providing energy efficiency and process optimization solutions to help refinery customers achieve sustainability in their businesses.

 

Sani Zulkepli
Regional Manager - Energy SEA

Sani looks after the heat exchanger business in the process industry for South East Asia. He comes from a Chemical Engineering background and his long experience with Alfa Laval includes hands-on commissioning and trouble-shooting on both onshore and offshore plants, process & project management, and sales management. He brings with him a solid technical and commercial acumen and is passionate about optimising heat transfer to drive profitability and sustainability for the customer.
